Year 10 Crystallisation in Science Lesson

Our Year 10 students recently took part in a hands-on crystallisation lesson as part of their chemistry curriculum, diving into the fascinating process of forming solid crystals from a solution.

During the session, students explored how solubility and saturation play a role in crystal formation. Using practical techniques, they heated solutions, observed evaporation, and watched as crystals began to form turning theory into tangible results.

The lesson not only reinforced key scientific concepts but also encouraged curiosity, precision, and patience. Students worked collaboratively, discussing their observations and reflecting on how crystallisation is used in real-world applications such as salt production, purification, and even in the creation of gemstones.
